Initially, we considered establishing a Boys and Girls Club at the Robb Elementary site. However, community feedback, particularly from neighborhoods south of Highway 90, indicated a preference for a multipurpose community center.
ECA Foundation, Inc. will coordinate the development of this center with the 21 families who lost children in the tragedy. These families will have full input on the type of monument to be constructed in memory of their loved ones, which may be a standalone structure or part of the community center.
We are coordinating with CUISD, the City, County, corporations, and foundations to bring this project to fruition.
We plan to construct a multi-service community center at the Robb Elementary site, featuring various recreational programs and classes for both youth and adults. The center will be designed to serve as a hub of community activity and support, reflecting the needs and desires of the Uvalde community.
